Robby's good humor lasts through him tucking his stethoscope into his backpack, hunting down his travel mug from this morning and filling it with break room coffee for the walk home, and patting his pockets to make sure his phone is on him. It lasts as he bids goodnight to Sara, who's pulling a double, and as he turns towards the lockers where his heavier winter coat is stuffed inside, probably still damp from the snow this morning.
It lasts right until his eyes land on Langdon, still sitting in front of his computer, with no apparent move to get up and head home.

When a storm hits Pittsburgh a few days before Christmas, Robby offers Langdon a place to crash. It's just a bed. Robby shouldn't feel so strange about it.

Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch, Ph.D, is a distinguished professor of philosophy, with a penchant for Nietzschesque ramblings and a deep love for other such nihilist philosphies. He is also the husband of Dr. Jack Abbot, Ph.D, distinguished professor of biochemistry, notorious for his sarcasm and his perfect five-point-oh rating on ratemyprofessor-dot-com.
The two have a little game they like to play. It's a simple competition: at the end of the semester, whoever had the higher average grade overall, for all of their classes, gets to boss the other around a bit in the bedroom. It's a tradition they've kept up with since Robby got tenure, and they both love it.
This semester, Robby beat Jack.

Jack's good at taking commands. He and Robby like to take advantage of this in their sex life.
