“I cannot believe you’re about to walk into a bloody death trap and you’re offering to help me with my final exams,” Ron said, voice pitching up a few octaves higher as he smacked the other boy in the shoulder.

“What?” Remus said, finally turning to look at him and leaning in close. “You jealous?” he breathed in Sirius’ ear. Sirius fought the incomprehensible urge to shudder.
“Jealous of what?” he asked, staring fixedly at a small chandelier that hung from the ceiling. One of its bulbs was flickering, and he latched onto it as if it were the most interesting thing in the world.
“You tell me,” Remus said, leaning back at last and giving him the space to breathe again.
Sirius turned his head slowly to find Remus looking at him, a smirk dancing across his face.
But then, “Relax mate, I’m just messing with you,” Remus said, clapping him on the back before pushing out his chair and sloping off to Madam Pince, finished with his book.
Sirius was left there floundering for a moment. Was he jealous? Sirius? He almost laughed.
What did that scrawny, little year four have on him that he should be jealous of? As if.

Sirius is oblivious and in denial. Remus is confused. -

“I’m not doing this,” the redhead grumbles, crossing his arms. He eyes the offending piece of metal in front of him, mouth set in a frown.
Hermione scoffs in exasperation. “Honestly,” she mutters under her breath as she idly turns the page of her book. “Just wear it. Merlin knows how much you need it.”
”Over my dead body,” Ron hisses, hunching in himself when Madam Pince glares at them. “I’m going to look like Percy! The twins are never going to let me live it down.”
Madam Pince hushes them again and Ron groans, dropping his head onto the desk with a thud. “And Professor Snape is never going to let you live if you mess up another potion,” Hermione adds, not even bothering to look up from where she’s seated.
or, Ron has to wear glasses after a spell messes up and makes him nearsighted. Harry ends up making a discovery about himself.

The Slytherin looks at him in amusement, brushing his wet hair out of his eyes. “Why do you want me to win so badly, Weasley? Last I checked, we aren’t close enough for you to be supporting me.”
Because I bet my entire life savings on you when I was drunk, the redhead thinks miserably. “I think you’re smart enough to win,” he says instead, looking determined. “You will win. Say it with me now.”
“I’ll win,” Harry hums, contemplating. “And when I do, Weasley, that wish is mine. No matter what.”
or, Ron agrees to fulfill one wish of Harry’s as long as he wins the Triwizard Tournament. He just doesn’t expect the wish to be so complicated.

So, when the hat tells him he can thrive in Slytherin, that he was not just going to be another Weasley if he goes to Slytherin, Ron accepts.
This is a long-fic spanning from first to seventh year, from Ron Weasley's perspective. It's a Harry/Ron slow-burn, and when I say slow-burn, I really mean it. It's going to be slooow.

Jayce remembers the sharp pain of the Hexclaw grazing his skin, piercing through his clothes and burning him. He can't help but feel as if those kind of moments, as painful as they were, were the ones that led him here, lying besides Viktor. He’d rather have his whole body scarred a billion times than to never be able to feel at peace with his former partner again.
“No,” Jayce says, with barely any hesitation,— and it’s the most honest thing he’s said in years. “I was just too in love with you to hurt you.”

It was soothing to see Viktor untouched by pain or struggles of the day, for once without a crease between his brows or a cringed expression on his face. He looked somehow younger, curled to the couch’s backrest and clinging to the blanket that hugged his body tightly.
Suddenly, Jayce’s face felt warmer.
It seemed intimate, watching Viktor in such a vulnerable state. Somehow though, Jayce couldn’t quite bring himself to move his gaze away. He’d love to see his partner relaxed like this more often. But, he supposed, after what the Council had decided to do with their work, Viktor’s brows would be furrowed in stress even more often than they had been before…
He shook his head. There would be time for worrying later. Now, he needed breakfast.
