Summary
David escapes to the Schitt family cabin for the weekend to spend his birthday popping a pill and crying himself to sleep after a Sandra and Julia marathon. He expects wine, crying, and getting mad at his family for inevitably forgetting his birthday. What he doesn't expect is meeting a disarmingly charming man camping up the road. Maybe it won't be such a bad birthday after all. There is some canon dialogue and some canon adjacent'ish things.
This fic is complete and is rated E for Eventual Explicit Exploits in later chapters. I hope you enjoyed that alliteration as much as I did. I'll be posting a chapter a day until it's done.
This fic was inspired by a photo of Noah Reid released a week or two ago from a film set. .

“Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life!” Patrick reads from the flyer, smirking up at David through his light scattered eyelashes. “This is a business seminar, David. Did you get a sudden passion for accounting? Are you taking this one? Are you feeling guilty for stealing my job out from under me?”
David can’t help but let a tiny smirk escape in the corner of his mouth which he furiously tries to tamper down as he looks across the room at his teasing brown-haired business partner.
“Um, about that, for this one, we sort of, actually, have to go together.”
OR, David and Patrick decide they should fake date at a series of seminars for Queer business owners. Because that is definitely a sensible choice.
