Lance picks his jaw up off the floor and looks around their circle to find Hunk and Allura appearing similarly gobsmacked. Shiro pulls a face and punches Matt lightly on the arm, but it doesn’t seem like this is new information to him.
“Hang on—” Lance coughs. “When the hell did that happen?”

Summary
Seven years ago, Lance went missing. The Garrison informs them of this a week after his disappearance. Under the guise of military confidentiality, they're given hardly any details about the event. All they know is that Lance had snuck out one night, got into a fight with some personnel dealing with some top secret mission, and then promptly vanished.
Just like that, seven years pass. Lance turns eighteen, then nineteen, then twenty, and then they stop counting. At twenty four, he comes home.
Or: Seven years after leaving Earth, Lance comes home, but there's a part of him still left in space.
