The problem wasn't Joey, or the things that he did, or the way that he looked, or the women that he brought home. The problem was how Chandler reacted to Joey, and the things that he did, and the way that he looked, and the women that he brought home.
Every stupidly kind gesture twisted Chandler's stomach into knots, and every moment of casual shirtless lounging stained Chandler's cheeks rosy, and every morning that Joey emerged from his room, clad in boxers, socks, a t-shirt, and morning hair, with a woman in tow, made Chandler want to throw himself down the garbage disposal along with all of this failed attempts at breakfast. So, really, Chandler was the issue.
He'd found it much easier to place all of the blame on himself, rather than Joey, who still made a wish on every "first star" he saw, and tried to use fancy terms and got so close but never quite right, and who was Chandler's best friend.
And how exactly could Chandler stand being roommates with his best friend who he had heart-sickening and tragically one-sided feelings for? Because what else could he possibly do?

“Missed you rather terribly, actually.” Aziraphale admitted, a bit quieter. Then his fingers slipped beneath Crowley’s shirt hem to get at his bare skin, and Crowley’s lips curled into a smirk.
“Hunting for something, there, angel?” Crowley asked, inching closer to guide Aziraphale’s hand farther up his shirt. “’Cause I’d be more than happy to point the way.”
Aziraphale’s lips quirked a touch, but his eyes remained on his work. “Afraid I’m still hours from closing, dear.”
Crowley shrugged. “So?” he murmured into the scant few inches between his lips and Aziraphale’s temple, making a small upward gesture with his offhand.
The air around them shifted. Aziraphale knew the feeling, how could he not - the space around their bodies was now teeming with miraculous energy, creating a focus blur for the lesser beings in the shop. At last, he looked up from his work, cheeks blooming pink at the implication.
“You can’t be serious.” Aziraphale spoke lowly now.
“Deadly.” Crowley said.
