Most people in Gotham know what happens to the ones who go in. They know the names that come back out changed, hollowed, rebuilt into something the city no longer recognizes. They know not to ask what happens in between.
This is what happens in between.
Not every story begins with a hero. Some begin with a man on a concrete floor, in a darkness so complete it has weight, learning for the first time in forty-three years what it means to have nothing. No empire. No city. No one. No name that makes other men step back. Nothing but the prayers his mother taught him in a language the walls don't understand, and the faces he holds onto in the dark because they are the only light left and he is terrified of what happens the day he can no longer find them.
Whatever went into Arkham, what came out was not the same.

Summary
Jafar discovers an addendum to Agrabah's Marriage laws, one that will force Jasmine to marry him on her twenty-first birthday. In a bid for the throne, he presents this to the Sultan.
Sultan Hamed, however, already has a plan in motion, one he refuses to share with Jafar.
When Jasmine discovers Jafar's schemes, she is determined to escape him. When fleeing to the streets of Agrabah, she meets a street rat, and her heart is immediately ensnared. Fate, however, intervenes.
Jasmine is forced to return to the palace, and to the man that is trying to trap her into marriage.
There are enemies and secrets that are hidden from the princess, and when the truth comes out, Jasmine must turn to Jafar for help.
Jafar is more than willing to assist, provided that Jasmine agrees to be his queen when the time comes.
