Summary
Some time after I’ve overstayed my welcome, Hels has advanced through the ranks of the Brims, and Wels through the ranks of the Hall, to the point that it has come time for both to take the final, secret trial of the Pentacle of Proving. Known as the Prowess of the Peaks, it is entirely optional, only taken by those seeking leadership positions, such as prospective Wises or particularly advanced teachers. It involves a trip to a mysterious island of mountains and ash, the construction of a strange frame from volcanic glass, and a visit to a world of fire, brimstone, and lost souls.

Summary
Little chapters I’m writing using ink_ghoul on tumblr’s 2023 Hermittiober Prompt List! Very much my first attempt at horror and properly planned mystery. General warning for body horror of the mushroom variety (like the last of us lite but sculk) and battlefield typical injuries (arrow punctures, sword cuts, etc.) No graphic bloody details.
