Summary
A split-perspective story, one in the past and one in the current timeline (aka when One Piece starts), following both a young girl from the East Blue and a new marine soldier as they struggle to find their place in the world.
The young girl is born into a village divided by differences in belief and a chance encounter causes her to get tangled up with a boy from the other side. The two become best friends but have to meet in secrecy in attempts to navigate and ease tensions.
The new marine soldier joins the marines for a greater purpose, hoping that this new life will fulfill her in more ways than one. She finds new friends and tries to find herself a family within the salty airs of war.
