The VIP box was silent. Beside Dick, Bruce was staring at the Jumbotron over the rink completely focused. Their whole family had been watching the Lookalike contest with interest but went quiet when Bruce got that look on his face. That Batman look. Like he was trying to solve a case. Or catch a ghost.
And Dick knew why.

Summary
Bruce Wayne had a plan: give the street child a roof over his head, teach him manners, and find him a family. One month, that was all. He was not going to keep Jason Todd.

Summary
Jason Todd was born and raised in Crime Alley, the birthplace and homeground of some of Gotham's worst, and brought up as a mercenary. Hood is a terrifyingly competent killer-for-hire with the reputation to match. Jason has plans to change his life, however, to make enough money to retire early and leave the mercenary life behind permanently and he'll let nothing get in the way of that. One chance meeting with an injured Red Robin, a fleeting moment of confused compassion, and Jason's well-thought-out plans are sent into disarray.
