Summary
Liliya squirms slightly as he slides her tiny arms into the sleeves, her face scrunching in mild protest. "I know, I know," Shane murmurs, smiling faintly. "Not your favourite thing." He glances briefly at the phone, then back to her. "Maybe one day," he says quietly, "we can show this to your papa."
There's a subtle shift in the room. Yuna's smile falters just slightly. David, standing nearby, looks down for a moment before composing himself.
Shane doesn't stop. "This is the day you came home," he tells her. "The first day of the rest of our lives kiddo." His fingers are careful as he buttons the cardigan, adjusting it so it sits just right.
"I think he'd like to see this,” he adds softly.

Summary
Shane Hollander gives too much. Ilya Rozanov leaves too soon. For years, they've been the fixed points in each other's orbit: a romantic and a cynic locked in a battle of wills.
