“Can I help you?” Tommy asked, peering up and down the street to see if, perhaps, they needed help, wondering why they'd knock on his door out of all the houses on this street.
“Are you Thomas Kinard?” the boy asked, his voice a little deeper than Tommy had anticipated.
“Tommy. Yeah.”
The two kids exchanged a look.
“I'm Benny. This is Holly. Patrick Kinard is our father.”
Tommy's hand reached out for the door frame, trying to hold his body up as his knees threatened to give out. The world around him shifted, a violent, seismic tremor that ran through his very core. For a moment, he couldn't breathe.

Between a girlfriend and a new best friend, Eddie never seems to have any time for him anymore. Is he being selfish wanting Eddie to pay attention to him? Bouncing around him like an overeager puppy screaming look at me, look at me? Maybe. He knows his abandonment issues can turn pretty ugly. But maybe he can get somewhat of a handle on things with a bit of self-reflection, and maybe learn a few new things about himself.
On top of everything, someone might be trying to kill him.

“Shizun,” Ming Fan ventured cautiously, watching Shen Qingqiu stride ahead with the massive mirror slung across his shoulder like some deranged traveling peddler, “shouldn’t… shouldn’t we leave that object where it is?”
“And permit some other sect—or worse, passing opportunists—to claim it and put it to vile use? This Master would never allow such calamity to take root.”
Except, what came out of Shen Qingqiu's mouth was, “I need this mirror to beat Shang Qinghua over the head with it until he coughs up an explanation.”
…Wait...what?!
or: Shen Qingqiu accidentally falls under the curse of truth, leaving Liu Qingge to wonder if this is the day his shixiong has finally given in to madness.
