That's normally how it goes, isn't it: the two heroes fall in love and hook up and start a relationship, and then the curtain falls. You don't get to see what comes after. You don't get to see when it's not easy. You don't get to see one of them fighting through internalized homophobia nor the other one struggling with their self-worth.
All you know is the happily ever after. But you don't get to see how they get there.
