In the summer of 2019, Dave Katz is working for a landscaping service. One of his coworkers tells him about a medium who claims to be able to speak to the dead. When Dave makes an impulsive decision to visit the medium, he can't possibly imagine the beautiful chaos he is about to invite into his life.
Klaus is sober and struggling. Some wild stuff happened in the spring, and now he's reunited with (most of) his siblings and trying to get a handle on his power. Charging people 50 bucks for an interview with a departed loved one seems like a good way to simultaneously face his demons and earn some grocery money.
Then a kind, strong, beautiful man named Dave walks in, hoping to talk to his dead boyfriend. One thing leads to another, and Klaus might find love for the very first time! — if he doesn't stay true to character and fuck it all up before it even gets started, that is.

Buck, who touches him with a devotion as palpable as all the little pieces of himself scattered throughout Eddie's home.
Eddie thinks he might have solved his own question, but he’s afraid to look at the answer too closely—because he’s fairly certain his best friend is in love with him, and Eddie can’t remember a single thing about him.
Or, the one where Eddie wakes up from the shooting only to think he was hurt in a certain 7.1 earthquake years prior and learns to appreciate the life he's created for himself since then.

Klaus had spent his entire life terrified of ghosts, and when Ben died in his arms, he knew that he would be forever tortured by a ghost wearing the face his brother.
Turns out, he was wrong. Mostly.
Sure, Ben didn’t scream, or cry, or do anything that a ghost did. Technically speaking, it was almost as if Ben never died, he nagged at him like usual, and he whined and snarked and forced Klaus to entertain him like usual.
It was almost as if he had never died. Almost. On good days, Klaus would nearly forget, until he looked over at Ben, and remembered that he was almost a whole head shorter than him, and he was still covered head to toe in blood. His victims’, or his own, Klaus never knew. If he wasn’t careful, his eyes would drift down to where the horrors' tentacles should’ve been, leaving an empty space where Ben’s guts spilled out and trailed behind him. Honestly, the worst thing about ghosts was that they would never change, were how they looked exactly how they did when they died, and Ben was no exception.

"What?" Klaus looks down towards his chest and then to Five. "Did I get sun-burnt?" He removes his glasses to check.
Five's eyes remain glued to his chest, face blank.
Weird. There's no sunburn in sight.
Allison wipes her fingers on her towel, ignoring how the sunscreen smears across the fabric to reach for her notepad. Her knuckles are white from the force of her grip and Klaus frowns in concern.
"Klaus..." Vanya chokes out, eyes suspicously shiny. "...your chest."
Klaus tilts his head to the side. "What?"
"The scars," Five takes pity on him and solves the mystery. "Dumbass," he adds on a beat too late.
"Oh," he says, glancing down at the faint pales lines carved into his skin. Allison lays a hand onto his upper arm, rubbing soothing circles with her thumb, prompting him to glance up. "What about them?"
His sisters flinch at his causal tone, sharing a disbelieving glance.

Klaus tries to get a tan and forgets that torture left its mark. It's only a matter of time until someone noticed the scars he came to terms with in his time in Vietnam. Understandably, his siblings aren't too happy to not have known their brother got tortured.
