Summary
A broken bond led Captain James T. Kirk to almost bleed out in his shower from self inflicted wounds. The admiralty gave him two options; to go on a little 'vacation' and get some help off ship and away from the public eye or to see galaxy renown therapist Helen Blake who just so happens to be on his very ship.
Therapy never works but fuck if Jim was bowing out.

James T. Kirk. Famous son of George Kirk, Captain of the USS Kelvin. James is ten years old and his life is about to go from boring and painful to interesting and painful. His brother Sam introduces him to Tevik, a Vulcan transfer student and he is finally falling over himself trying to match brilliance. Little does Jim know that this introduction will take him away from Idaho, into the stars and define his future. This is the story of James T. Kirk. His errors, his growth and his struggle. He doesn't want to be the greatest captain in history. Hell, he doesn't even want to go into Star Fleet. He wants what his brother is naturally. He wants to be better than what he is.

Summary
With the end of the five years mission on the horizon, the crew of the Enterprise is getting ready, making new plans for their future. Seems like Jim is the only one that has no idea what his future holds, all he knows is that he must break up with Spock, before it happens the other way around.
But just before their tour of duty is completed, an unexpected diplomatic mission is forced upon captain and crew by the admiralty, one that involves an ancient Vulcan ritual, invoked to determinate the fate the Vulcan people after their great calamity. That sacrament, however, also has the potential to destroy the entire Federation.
