Summary
Buck waits until Eddie meets his eyes, which takes longer than it should. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Eddie’s mouth twitches, searching for something in Buck’s face – something he’s not finding. They’re close, like this – one good exhale and they’d be touching, but Eddie’s eyelids are getting heavier.
“Why not?”
How could I leave you?
He watches Eddie and feels the rush in his blood, the churn of the distance between them. He thinks about the day they met, Eddie’s quiet, seemingly endless patience. He thinks about Eddie sitting beside him when Doug took Maddie. He thinks of Eddie at his door, with Chris, before the tsunami, and then after. He thinks of I forgive you.
A mosaic of moments, all laced together with one, single string.
You’re like breathing.
OR
Eddie gets hurt. Buck moves in to help, and things... escalate.

Summary
“Where’s Christopher?” The question ripped out of him before he could think. “Is he okay? Did I – did I lose him?”
Buck’s face fell. “Chris is fine. He’s in Texas, remember? With your parents.”
Texas. Eddie’s mind snagged on that. It didn’t feel right. Not at all. “No,” he muttered, shaking his head despite the rip of pain it caused. “No, that’s- that’s not right. We came here from Texas years ago. He came with me. We’re here now. He’s here.” He tried to sit up, but the effort sent his body crashing back against the pillow.
“Eddie, stop.” Buck’s voice turned firm, but not angry. Just scared. “Chris isn’t here, but he is okay. He’s not lost. You’re here with me. Chris is in Texas. He’s safe, I swear.”

The fallout from a major head injury blurs the lines between Eddie’s past and present, forcing him and Buck to confront an uncertain future together.

Summary
Eddie’s trouble starts with a dream. Well, it actually starts much earlier, when he runs into a woman who is the literal carbon copy of his dead wife. Or, alternatively it starts with a lightning bolt. Or a sniper. Or a firetruck. Or a car crash. Or, realistically, a grenade embedded in a seventh-grade teacher’s leg. It starts with blue eyes, broad shoulders and a tenacity that shocks Eddie to his very core.
But right now, Eddie’s trouble starts with a dream.--------
Eddie, alone and confused, is navigating Christopher's extended stay in Texas, while also grappling with feelings he's been repressing for seven years. Buck, who misses Chris dearly, is struggling under Gerrard and his boyfriend's dismissive attitude. In the wreckage of their lives, they find each other.

Buck lets out a whine and stands up to turn away from Eddie. This is a nightmare and he wishes he could just evaporate into thin air.
“It didn’t mean anything, okay?!” he says as he turns back around. “I don’t know what got into me. So, let’s please just forget this happened, Eddie.”
or
Between grueling shifts at work, Buck navigating his failing relationship, Eddie dealing with his catholic guilt, ridiculous Halloween costumes, a raging sexuality crisis, and unforeseen misunderstandings; neither of them expects the disastrous call that puts both of them in a dire situation.
