"Come here," Wu Ming repeats, and Xie Lian follows him over to their little sleeping mat, kneeling next to him, curling his fingers into Wu Ming’s as they shift to hold hands.
After Wu Ming survives his sacrifice, Xie Lian asks for only one shackle. While he doesn’t trust himself to be a god anymore, he allows himself a simple life in a small cottage with his most devoted believer. Things aren’t perfect, but they have each other.
