Summary
The first time Neil met his soulmate he had a knife stuck in his gut and he was being wheeled into the ER despite just needing a first aid kit and a bathroom.
There was chaos around him with one older woman shouting instructions and names to different parts of the room and then there was a short blond grabbing the side of the gurney to push it into a corner of the room.
Neil’s eyes landed on the lanyard clipped to the breast pocket of his scrubs and froze, all the pain gone. It couldn’t be.
There, above the name Dr. A. Minyard, was a picture of the short blond staring back at the camera with his right eye a very familiar hazel and his left eye a very unfamiliar blue.
Neil looked up and he saw it for himself. His right eye was just as hazel as Neil’s left eye under the brown contact lens, but his left eye was several shades paler than Neil’s right eye.
Wow. He had found his soulmate and he was very obviously not his soulmate’s soulmate.
Tilting his head back he sighed, unfortunately completely unsurprised.

Unlike what Allison might think, Neil was perfectly fine tagging along with Matt and Dan. They were his friends and he didn't care that they were a couple. And why should he care that Kevin and Andrew were dating when spending time with them after clearing up the initial misunderstanding was the most comfortable he had ever been?
So what if they looked good when they kissed and refused to let Neil be lonely?
It wasn't like they were still flirting with him and opening up about things not many people knew about them.
