She never listened, of course.
This was nothing more than scientific curiosity. At least, that’s what she told herself as she pushed away her doubts. This wasn’t some demon’s thrall. It wasn’t.
So, she waited until the dead of night, until the convent was quiet and still. Once Vaggie was fast asleep, she ventured out. It would only be for a while. She’d go to the castle, confirm that nothing was there, and then reassure the rest of the girls that the demon of the falling castle was nothing but a myth.
How wrong she’d been.
