Moving in with Izaya didn’t feel real. There were the expected reasons for that, the sane ones. Stuff like the flat which was about as pricey as Kasuka’s or the fact that his new boyfriend had the face of his old worst enemy.
Shizuo tried not to think about that too much. It was easier to put everything about The Other Izaya in a box and pretend they were different people. There were days Izaya himself took the same approach. And days he didn’t.

Shizuo hadn't made it into college. That wasn't so much of a surprise to him, or anyone else around him. But he had managed to land a full-time job as a barista in a quiet coffee shop to help him set up for a career later on down the road. Working alongside his schooldays friend Shinra, Shizuo had set up a pretty decent life for himself without any disruptions, trouble, or enemies. Until Shinra's roommate from college - the confident, beautiful, intelligent, perfect bastard Orihara Izaya - waltzes into his life...and turns it completely upside down.
Izaya had made it into college with a full ride. He'd gotten perfect marks on all his exams, he was the star student of the psychology program, he was popular, and he even worked as a part-time model in his spare time for extra cash.
