Summary
Zagreus once again reaches Patroclus' glade, injured and exhausted, and finds Achilles there too. The reunited shades tend their prince's wounds with a care that fills Zagreus with strange warmth. Though it's the wounds of the spirit--of the heart--that stab deepest, but perhaps they can offer some balm for those as well.

From then on, alongside the flowers those in the Underworld have grown used to, there are others, ones that make many an Underworld dweller weep. Pink Carnations (Remembrance), Chrysanthemums (Death), and Cyclamens (All good things must end). It is when these flowers appear, and many of the House notice the solemn look in Zagreus’ eyes, that they realize that these flowers are indeed representations of their prince’s emotions.

He didn’t know many ways to show his thanks to her. He knew, really, that words were more valuable to her, so he gave her plenty of those whenever he came back from a run through the levels of hell. But there wasn’t much else to give a chthonic god older than his father’s father that she could possibly want or use…besides, perhaps, a vintage scarcely seen in realms such as theirs.

Whose fault it is; well, perhaps Zagreus is to blame, in a way, but all three of the older deities have misstepped, misspoken, or misunderstood. Persephone isn't one to let those she loves remain in pain, though, so she's going to find a way to set it all right.

The middle head rewarded him by giving him a 'kiss', a tiny lick to his forehead with his glowing yellow tongue. His acid saliva did nothing to Zagreus' skin, it only made his already spiked black hair stand up a bit more, and the boy giggle and rub his own face at the ticklishness of the action. When the head was lowered, Zagreus grabbed his nose with both chubby little hands, pressing a kiss to it and babbling something that was probably a compliment or praise, it was hard to say. Cerberus' tail wagged so hard it was actually sending shockwaves through the floor, and Hades grunted at the desk next to him.

Summary
He'd stayed there for... Years? Minutes? Always hard to tell in the Underworld. Prone on his back, sleeping and waking up. Strangely, he'd never wake up alone. Everyone and their dog took a turn at his bedside, each with a kind word on their lips and a cool cloth for his forehead.
He'd felt out of place for a long time, sure that he didn't belong... But the constant presence of a close loved one cast these thoughts into serious doubt.
