"NEON GENESIS EVANGELION: THE SIDE EFFECTS OF CO-PILOTING AN EVANGELION. THE TRANSFORMATION OF SHINJI IKARI" is a fanfiction AU of the original "NEON GENESIS EVANGELION" Tv series. Taking place after Episode 9, Shinji Ikari begins to experience some strange symptoms where he begins to reflect on his fellow pilot and housemate. Follow Shinji as he figures out what exactly is going on with him, where he may perhaps find out more about his identity. All while those around them adjust to these changes. Summary
The year is 2000 AD. The Rokubungi Expedition has just awakened the Giant of Light and initiated a catastrophic event that will come to be known as Second Impact. The expedition’s leader, Gendo Rokubungi, uses the last of his strength to send his son Shinji to safety in an escape pod.
Trapped in a state of stasis, Shinji Rokubungi re-examines his own life and the uncertain future and comes to an unexpected conclusion: if he makes it out alive, he wants a new, better life — as a girl.
Dredged out of the ocean, the girl that was Shinji finds herself in a slightly different world than the one she was just in. The expedition in this place was led by a certain Dr. Katsuragi, and as far as anyone knows, she is the only child present in Antarctica at the time: the expedition leader’s daughter, Misato Katsuragi…
