There is silence for a while but once Bucky is sure that Tony is in deep sleep, he can’t hold his tongue any longer. He was always bad at that anyways. Bucky surprises Steve and himself by whispering out with a surprising amount of venom.
“I am so mad at you, Steve”
Steve closes his eyes in guilt, before whispering back even quieter, “I’m sorry Buck, I shouldn't have accused you like that. I should have known you wouldn’t-” but before he finishes, Bucky harshly cuts him off, gazing at Steve intensely.
“That's not what I'm upset about”

Steve let out a slow breath. "How can I help you?"
Hill folded her hands over the desk. "We need you to take a vacation."
Steve blinked. "I don't…"
"Like, literally. Our annual accounts audit determined that you have"—she checked her screen—"sixty-five days of vacation accrued. I realize our relationship with the Avengers is different from the rest of our agents, but you, Agent Romanov, and Agent Barton are all technically employees, and SHIELD requires that employees take at least seven days of their allotted vacation per year. In the past three years, you've taken zero. So we need you to go on vacation for at least twenty-one days."
