Summary
San turns the corner, blade held before him in both hands, and stumbles.
There is a throne, or not a throne. It’s more of a very large chair, carved from a single piece of wood so dark it seems to drink the firelight. In the chair sits not a demon. Not a monster. Not the nightmare thing of claws and burning eyes that San has imagined since childhood.
In the chair sits a man. A beautiful man.
OR
San is a mortal warrior sent on a mission to kill the evil being in the mountain, he instead finds a demigod named Wooyoung there who offers to let San stay with him rather than die. San chooses to stay and slowly learns that maybe Wooyoung isn't the terrible monster he's been warned about his entire life.

Jongho knows he should be grateful for what he has. Not a lot of betas get to be idols, after all. He imagines even fewer get to be in a group with people they love.
But it's hard not to feel a little sorry for himself when, every time one of his members has a heat or a rut, they all pile into a room together and close the door. And when, even outside of those times, they seem to be constantly drawing closer to each other and leaving him behind.
