“What is it?” Kageyama says it softly, his palm now pressed against Hinata’s face, his thumb brushing the tip of his chin.
“I’m tired,” Hinata says. “I feel it everywhere. I ache everywhere.”
He pauses into the quiet and when his eyes flicker open, he looks as uncertain as he had the day Kageyama had first met him, a whole lifetime ago—like a scared kid, unsure of his place in all of this.
He presses into Kageyama’s touch and then shifts closer, tucking his head against Kageyama’s chest.
“Yamayama,” Hinata says, taking a breath. “What if I retired?”

Summary
Affection disguised as playful insults was something they’d been doing for years and was part of their dynamic, but maybe it wouldn’t hurt for Tobio to be nicer to Shouyou sometimes—in a more romantic sense. They were both adults now and while their juvenile habits were familiar and fun, maybe something a bit more normal and mature could be good too.

After overhearing a private conversation in the Schweiden Adlers locker room, Tobio gets an epiphany and tries to be more romantic in his relationship. As expected, he fails miserably.
