Summary
Terra is not like Aqua and Ven.
They don't speak about it. They don't acknowledge it. Terra isn't sure if Ven even knows. But Terra has never forgotten there is something dark and terrible inside him. Still, with Master Eraqus's help, he has long since sealed that part of himself away. Now at eighteen, Terra is confident he has overcome his darkness.
But everything changes when a new threat appears: a masked stranger with the ability to consume light - one who is fixated on devouring the very hearts of Terra's friends. Each encounter makes the enemy stronger and his friends weaker. Each countermeasure makes the enemy smarter and crueler. As the castle descends into fear, Terra realizes he may be the only one who can save them.

Summary
When Vi is eleven, she robs an apartment with her three older siblings.
A few days later, she faces down the Council alone. Because she’s the only one in her family still alive.
Too young to be imprisoned, Vi expects to be tossed onto the streets of Zaun as yet another orphan. But face-to-face, is it much harder for the Council to ignore her grim future. Thus, Councillor Kiramman suggests something else: a rehabilitation program, to be pioneered and supervised by her family, to prove even a criminal Undercity kid can make something of themselves given a proper environment.
And so, five years later, Vi is living Topside with her new guardians and her new big sister, Caitlyn. In all that time, she has never returned to Zaun. She’s done her best to lay the past to rest and move on.
But the past isn’t as dead as she thinks it is. And while Vi may think she’s done with the Undercity, that doesn’t mean the Undercity is done with her.

Xehanort had assumed that once Ventus and Vanitas merged, Vanitas would wake up in charge and ready for the next stage of their plan.
Maybe he should have doubled-checked that assumption was correct before the first stage went ahead.

Thus does Detective Tatsumi Shin begins his dive into Makoto Niijima's life, quickly realizing that it is far, far different than what her sister described.

It was quiet as Caitlyn and Vi both processed the information, and then very slowly Vi pointed her finger to Caitlyn, and then to herself, one eyebrow raised up to the buzzed half of her hairline. “Us. Get married.”
A new law in Piltover prevents Zaun convicts from working topside without citizenship. Luckily for Vi, all she and Caitlyn have to do is take the next step of their relationship and get married, securing Vi a place in Piltover.
