Summary
When Wei Wuxian died at Burial Mounds, the cultivation world cheered and celebrated for weeks. However, the heavens who had been rooting for the pure-hearted, self-sacrificing soul, were enraged. After Xie Lian is tortured in his own temple, he wakes up in the care of a freshly-formed wrath ghost. "Wu Ming" follows him home and, with his carpentry experience, medical knowledge, street smarts, and fighting skills, makes himself indispensable to Xie Lian's family.
To protect Xie Lian from Bai Wuxiang, Wu Ming swears that he'll do whatever he must to get stronger, all the while becoming one more person that Xie Lian couldn't bear to lose.

“This San Lang would love the chance to pleasure Gege with his mouth,” he whispered.
Nearly a week after Hua Cheng's sudden departure from Puqi Shrine, Xie Lian is sent to investigate a distress signal from Ghost City.

“Where’s the bed?”
Xie Lian gestured to the straw mat which had been completely remade since last night’s… activities. Mu Qing glanced at the mat, then at Hua Cheng, then at Xie Lian, then back at the straw mat. “You two are sleeping there together?”
The tension in the room was almost visible with how thick it was. Mu Qing looked back and forth between Hua Cheng and Xie Lian, both of whom were staring resolutely at the ground and nowhere near each other. A disbelieving expression began to form on his face. He seemed to be moments away from connecting the dots.
Hua Cheng was moments away from revealing himself as Crimson Rain Sought Flower and cashing in on duels number 34 and 35 just to end whatever this was. He was only saved by Feng Xin announcing the array was finished. It was nearly enough to cause him to reconsider his entire opinion on the man. Nearly.
Hualian deal with the aftermath of sleeping together and negotiating what that means for them and their relationship. Part of a series!

“I wasn’t really scared when I said it earlier on the cart,” he confessed in that same soft, breathless voice. “I just liked it when Gege reassured me.” Something about the darkness and the slight vulnerability in San Lang’s voice made Xie Lian bold. He leaned closer until his breath was mingling with San Lang’s.
“Are you scared now?” he asked.
“Yes,” San Lang whispered, completely sincere.
“Don’t worry. Gege’s got you.” And with that Xie Lian closed the gap.
Fed up with how Feng Xin and Mu Qing expected him to still be the perfect prince, Xie Lian takes the opportunity presented to him to do something the Crown Prince of Xianle would never do.

A frail, old lady, barely standing on her legs with the help of a shaky cane looks at him bending her neck at an impossible angle. "What is it, young man?" She asks and Hua Cheng finally starts to explain.
After the first one, more and more wrinkled ladies and dusty old men open up for him, listening to his tales, inviting him in for tea as he goes on and on about the greatness of the Crown Prince of Xianle. It's clear to him that most of them are interested in the pleasant change of having company more than they are in his recounts but it doesn't matter. Maybe some of them will use the small talismans he leaves, maybe some will pray to the image he gifts them, it doesn't matter if the god they pray to isn't in the Heavens anymore, Hua Cheng can't help but wanting him to be worshipped and adored.
or: After receiving many unwanted visits from door to door preachers Hua Cheng decides he wants to talk about his god too and starts a new activity as a Taizi Dianxia witness.
