It’s getting closer, but the Trailblazers are still excitedly talking to his cowboy, and the diviner – Qingque her name was – tugs at Argenti’s wrist to get him to lean down. “Does he know?” She whispers in his ear. Before he can pull away, she grabs at the collar of his shirt, just above where the armour stops. Sniffs, pulls a face. “I’m surprised you’re out here. Take him home.”
“I’m not-we’re not-” Argenti stutters, caught off-guard for what feels like the first time in the better part of a decade. He shakes his head slightly, and it dislodges her grip. “It’s not like that.”
“You’re in rut, stinking up the place, and you’re with him."
