The thunder rattled the house, at least, it seemed like it did to Felix, and his heart jumped into his throat, hands shooting up to his ears in a flinch. He felt that same out-of-control, spinning feeling as Ezra gently took him into an embrace, strong arms underneath his arms like two pieces of a jigsaw. The weight of their lover was calming, like an anchor in a wild sea.
“Hey, hey,” Ezra still sounded confused, rubbing circles on Felix’s back as his breath skipped, “Is it the thunder?”
