Summary
For a fleeting moment you see the age in his eyes, tender and nostalgic as though he were the old man he once claimed to be, looking back upon misplaced yet beloved photographs of times long past.
G'raha turns his arm to regard the arcane eye painted there. The deep hue is stark against the azure of his body. "I shall wash them off in the morning, but for now I enjoy being able to see my old markings again."
"You seem more upset than anything," you counter cautiously, the unspoken question evident in your voice.
"’Tis difficult to put into words. Memory is not always without mourning, and mourning is not always an act of grief." G'raha looks down into his tea, tracing a crystal finger along the curve of the ceramic mug. The faint scratching sound it makes is nearly deafening. "Tis good to remember how it felt to fly before I clipped my wings."

Summary
This time when he looks at you, all you find is searing adoration. The scorching weight of what that means blisters through you, melting the sand beneath your back until the solid, earthen certainty of your life has morphed into nothing more than cracking glass. G'raha brings his hand to your chest, fingers spread, his palm coming to rest above your pounding heart. He is trembling, just as you are. You place your hand over his and let your pulse convey what you cannot. Fortune finds you wanting for words, but not for meaning.
Red eyes soften to the shine of hearthfire, the light of a home you never realized just how much you needed.
"Raha," you call him for the first time.
The weight of one word can be enough to shatter glass.

Summary
Lyna's request makes more sense now, though perhaps not in the way she intended. Pray be patient with him.
It's not just the Exarch's body that needs time to heal.
G'raha grows heavy against you as he succumbs to sleep. "Stay with me," he murmurs into your chest. His hand finds your tail where it curls around him, and he holds it ever so gently in an unspoken claim.
Not much has changed after all.
He is asleep before you can answer, but it doesn't matter. This time you will be there when he wakes.
