Summary
The weight of ones ambitions is always balanced by the consequences that may follow. Viktor is at the bottom end of the scale, that's tipped toward the ground, telling him that this is it, this is where his pursuit ends. He's done everything he could to prove himself to those who expected everything of him, and in the vile swirling concoction that is sorrow exists hate, spite- that burning feeling in ones chest when they realize that it never mattered. He was the rusted tool in their many greedy hands.

Summary
Tav notices that something's wrong with Astarion. After some critical think they realize why- Astarion has not fed in some time, and it's definitely affecting him.
With limited options at their current disposal, Tav offers their blood. While Astarion is apprehensive, he caves, knowing that he can't continue as he is without putting his life (and Tav's) at risk in his weakened state.Unfortunately, not feeding for some time can lead to losing oneself until sated. Astarion ends up drinking more than he wanted, and for the first time in so long, fears losing someone he cares for.

Summary
The new year is only hours away, and Ciel has been invited. Though clearly he does not want to stay. This results in a rather personal conversation between the boy and his demon Butler who chastises the Earl who clearly failed to mention that alcohol can cause an asthma attack.
Though it all seems to be fine, this withheld information sparks another insecurity that worries Ciel, and unfortunately, Sebastian doesn't know how to properly respond.
A mostly introspective piece and angst or emotional rollercoaster where I feel everyone can clearly relate and feel some form of frustration.
Please read the tags, as some of the content can be triggering. If you've read the manga to its latest, then you already know, but I'd rather warn readers than be chastised for not doing so.
