Summary
Midoriya Izuku is medically quirkless, not technically homeless, perpetually exhausted and doing his damned best despite it all. He also sees spirits, which might be cool if not for the fact that a) no one else does, b) they really don't like him very much, and c) he's pretty sure the heroes now think he's a villain working for the League.
Aizawa Shota just wants to take down Overhaul, rescue Eri, keep his students alive, get some rest, and find out how this Deku kid knows things he absolutely should not know about his personal life and the Shie Hassaikai case.
Unless Nighteye's right, and the kid really is a villain.

Era doesn't have high hopes for her future. Truthfully, up until a few months ago there hasn't been a future; just the blurry promise of suffering to come. The journey from villain to ex-villain to vigilante has been... rough, to put it mildly. But Era can handle it. The journey from vigilante to hero-in-training? That, she has less of a grasp on. Era doesn't consider herself to be optimistic, but she is confident in her skills and her quirk, sure that her training will carry her through anything UA has to throw at her, and that in turn UA will keep her protected from the shadowy figures of her past, the threat that lurks in the corner of her eye.
If only heroes weren't so god damned nosy, stubborn, persistent. If only she could remember to keep her useless emotions in check, avoid any unnecessary attachment, save herself and others from future pain. If only her quirk would just let her die. Funny, how that would make things so much simpler.

Notes (with spoilers!)
MC = Katora (villain name) = Sparrow (vigilante) = Wraith (hero). Daughter of Phoenix who leads a powerful villain group.
The first third of the story is stellar—great humor, strong characterization, action, and those perfect Aizawa moments ✨Later on, the story leans heavily into a cycle of trauma, poor decisions, and repeated mistakes. Even with therapy and some self-awareness, the MC’s growth feels stuck in a loop without lasting change. Though this is arguably realistic, the focus on trauma starts to overshadow other parts of her personality. It honestly feels like a character regression—and one that might last for quite a few chapters.

The man gingerly raises his head, enough so that now Naomasa at least has view of his eyes past the green curls that hang down over his forehead. He repeatedly opens his mouth as if to respond, though no words come forth. Eventually, he simply closes his eyes for a solid minute before reopening them. They land on him first, then move to contemplate the handcuffs that still restrain his wrists to the table. Finally, both of them lock eyes, and Naomasa can see the newly found sense of composure. His lips part, and he speaks.
“My name is Midoriya Izuku.”

Kidnapped and subjected to experimentation, torture, and horrors beyond comprehension, Izuku and Aizawa only have each other.
But left to the mercy of their captors, will their companionship be enough to break themselves out? Or instead, lead them to break apart in the process?
