    Laios twiddles his fingers and readjusts his phone on the table. “Uh. Well. I emailed it to him yesterday. It’s a bit different from what I usually write, so I’m sure that’s why it’s taking him longer than usual to beta it.”

    Laios never meant to develop a reputation as a monsterfucker novel writer, but it had just sort of ended up happening, and his editor Kabru is dragged along for the ride.

    Well, what he doesn't know can't hurt him, right?

    Or: Anakin's too oblivious and stuck in his intellectual mind to notice that the 501st assassinated Chancellor Palpatine while colluding with other clones from around the galaxy.
    Rex gets the feeling that he wouldn't care even if they said it to his face, so long as he followed the question up with "and what about your thesis?" or something along those lines.

He had his cat, his work, his books, and a constant boil of self hatred and resentment to get him by.

    And then a sixth year handed him a letter from her aunt, thanking him for acting as conservator of Hogwarts and calling him Dr. Filch. It was the first time he had been called Doctor since he started at the castle. He had little choice but to write back, after that.
