Summary
"How did this start again?" Yelena asked, rolling her eyes. Bob smiled openly this time, lowering his mug away from his face.
"I think with Mel asking everyone what their favorite Christmas movie was," Bob said, chuckling.
"I'm so, so sorry about that," intoned Mel, now staring at an empty spot on the floor, as if disassociating in penance for her grievous transgression. Sam gave her a comforting pat on the knee without looking away from his own spot on the ceiling.
A Christmas tale in which Yelena considers the over saturation of Christmas films, John and Ava argue over Die Hard, and Bob is just there to cause some festive trouble.

Summary
If she was ranking missions, it was Yelena's opinion that, going undercover at a popular nightclub, wasn't the worst one possible.
When the New Avengers are sent out on a seemingly straight forward mission in a night club, Yelena had assumed her biggest concern would be keeping an eye on Bob during his first time out in the field. And perhaps how many mocktails she would let herself enjoy. Or why she was having so many, new, confusing feelings for Bob, not just professionally, but also during all those late nights she spent listening to Bob's steady voice as he read to her.
(Yelena would only ever admit to thinking about the possible mocktails)
But when the mission twists into something unexpected, Yelena is forced to deal with the ghosts of her past and all the scars that go along with them.

So, she’s currently being held somewhere, and can’t remember how she got there. Wherever there is, which she’ll probably find out soon, because villains love running their mouths and giving things away. She really isn’t in much of a position to judge, though, considering that now long-dead O.X.E. employee that she practically gave her whole life story to all those months ago while he was tied up and at her mercy. Damn. What is it they say? Walk a mile in the shoes of someone else and all that? At least she isn’t gagged like he was.
Or: Yelena has been kidnapped, and they want to know the truth about Bob. She'll do whatever it takes to protect him, no matter what it means for her.

Yelena Belova knew she had a soulmate from a very young age.
Someone the universe had chosen to share her scars, her emotions, and all the bruised pieces in between. It was what anchored her through everything in life, the very reason she still pushed herself through her training in the Red Room, when Natasha died, when she felt like she had no purpose anymore...until her soulmate's injuries ceased to exist that she realized she was all alone.
As far as Bob knew, he had never given much thought to soulmates.
