Summary
Five years ago, Tim made the painful decision to leave Lucy behind at base camp before heading off for his second military tour. Convinced it was the best choice for both of them, he believed that the sacrifice would ultimately lead to a better future. But the decision left Lucy heartbroken, and their relationship fractured under the weight of unspoken promises and the pressures of military life.
Now, five years later, Tim has transitioned to civilian life and joined the police department. By chance, he finds himself working alongside Lucy, who is now an experienced officer in the same precinct. Though time has changed both of them, the sparks between them are undeniable, but so are the old wounds. As they begin to navigate this new chapter of their lives, both struggle with the weight of their past—Tim’s guilt over leaving Lucy, and Lucy’s fear of being hurt again.
As they grow closer, the ghosts of their shared history resurface, and old doubts and fears threaten to tear them apart once more. In a city full of chaos, can they move forward together, or will the unresolved issues from their past hold them back?

Mac loses control of being able to keep it together every single time Riley calls him Angus. Riley also does it on purpose because she is well aware of what calling Mac, Angus does to him. One day he can’t take it anymore and breaks his one rule and whispers into her ear for her to meet him in the server room in five minutes. Otherwise they’d both be in more trouble than either one of them could possibly handle.

Summary
Conner had left Sarah sleeping in his bed just a few hours ago, but here she was, laying on the stretcher, looking too pale, eyes closed, leg broken.
His heart stopped beating for a second as he took her in.
She was supposed to be sleeping, enjoying her day off. When he last saw her, her skin was flushed, her eyes sleepy but happy, as she mumbled goodbye to him, sinking into his soft pillow, her naked shoulder and bare back his last glimpse of her before he left.
But she's laying before him, eyes closed, sticky warm blood on her hairline, leg broken, looking too pale for his liking.
And as he waits for the blood results, he's hit with the realization that he could have lost her.
