“D'you ever think it's weird?” She asks casually. He gets the impression that she’s not really one for small talk, like she’s trying it on like a glove that doesn’t entirely fit. “We've both been doing this for nearly two decades. Christ, half our lives, more or less. And we'd never met until now.”
Leon shrugs. “We almost did, you know. Raccoon City. I’ve read your reports– we were only off by a couple hours.” He’s wondered about it, actually. As a rookie, he’d kind of imprinted on the first authority figure he’d met– Ada, and her FBI agent routine – and god knows that fucked with his head enough over the years.
But if he’d met Jill…maybe it could have been avoided. Except he didn't. He met her in Alcatraz, world-weary and alone.
