"What's that?"
He leaned forward, holding her close, as he pressed his lips to her forehead in a gesture of goodbye.
His lips were cold and trembling as he whispered hoarsely, his warm breath caressing her skin.
"I won't forget you. I promise. Thank you for the memories, but I'm not here to save you." His tone dropped low, and as cold as ice, she felt it cut deep into her chest cavity. "This is goodbye, Granger."
"No, Draco, don't you dare! Don't do this to us; I love—"

Under Voldemort's orders, Draco and Hermione are forced to marry in a humiliating ceremony, hoping to tarnish the Malfoy family's place within The Sacred 28, and Hermione's dignity of marrying into a family that loathes her. As the non-couple grow closer under the same roof, they begin devising a plot to restore order amongst the Wizarding community, but Draco and Hermione soon discover that perhaps their pairing is more important than either of them realize.
