When he learns its Palpatine, and that he's been grooming Anakin all these years, he knows there's nothing he wouldn't do if it meant keeping his Padawan safe. Even at the cost of himself.

Summary
This is an AU if Luffy was raised as a marine by Garp and remembers the secret codes and such from him.
I highly recommend reading the series in order, except The world doesn't deserve you, unless you want to read a canon divergence fic when the ASL Brothers were still kids on dawn.

Harriet Potter was used to being underestimated.
