Summary
John Winchester tracks down a case to work on the California coast. Rather than stick his kids in a hotel, he leaves them with an acquaintance of his: an old vampire hunter affectionately known as "Emerslayer." To Sam and Michael Emerson, "Grandpa."
Sam and Dean make the most of this once-in-a-blue-moon opportunity to settle down for a bit and have some fun.
For Sam, that means meeting the Frog brothers with Sam Emerson and talking comics and hunting.
For Dean, that means hesitantly allowing himself to let loose with some heavy-metal-reject bikers he meets on the boardwalk.
All the while, John races to track down whatever it is that's leaving wrecks of bodies en-masse in the surrounding hub of cities before they can do any more damage...

Summary
A nineteen-year-old Shane Hollander is a completely normal college student-- well, almost. In between studying and lectures, he kills vampires. Pretty normal college student stuff.
In a world where vampires crawl the earth, feeding on the innocent, there has to be someone to stop them. Or multiple someone's. Shane is one of them, more out of tradition than anything else. He doesn't take pleasure in killing vampires like other hunters do. Despite this, he continues to hunt, to protect the earth from these dangerous, unpredictable, blood thirsty monsters.
Shane isn't there to hunt vampires, but he's prepared to kill any if he comes across them.
Ilya Rozanov is also a completely normal nineteen-year-old college student. Other than the tiny little hiccup that he's one of the blood thirsty monsters Shane's grown up hunting.
Ilya can blend in perfectly. He's charismatic and popular. Textbook frat guy. He doesn't do this because he necessarily wants to-- he does it out of survival.

His careful rhythm is disrupted when natural born vampire Ilya Rozanov waltzes into his life. Ilya is his opposite in every way: no sleep schedule to speak of, freely mixes matters of blood and sex, and grins with his fangs when he’s particularly pleased.
All this should repulse Shane, of course, not make him so desperate it’s as if some part of him has been waiting his whole life to surrender to the uncontrollable attraction.
