He sounded terribly embarrassed. Qifrey giggled, half in endearment and half mind-numbing relief. “Right,” he murmured, fingers relaxing by a fraction. “Sorry. You used to be so affectionate with your hands.”

Summary
Oruggio’s hand tightens around Qifrey’s. The silver haired man startles noticeably in his grip. “Tell me you’re not planning anything stupid. Promise me you won’t let this go too far.”
Oruggio says and does nothing to control the urgency in his voice. To anyone else, it might seem like he is trying to threaten the man into compliance. Those who know Oruggio will be able to tell that he’s downright terrified of losing his husband.
(Or; Oruggio does some investigating and scheming of his own and sets out to save his husband from himself)

What might it look like if Will's memories returned before James's?
(okay there is now an unnecessary second chapter which is quite a bit different to chap 1 in terms of tone and style but that's okay)-
“Did you know, ‘Anharion’ wasn’t always your name?” Will says, as he traces his fingers along the hollow of James’s cheekbone, ignoring the way those lovely blue eyes glare at him. “It comes from the word an’haren—from your mother’s homeland, if I recall correctly—meaning ‘turned’. We both liked the sound of it, do you remember? You liked how my accent twisted the vowels, shortened them.” A puff of laughter leaves his lips at the old memory. “I thought the definition never suited you, for none of it was exactly your own fault. But then again...”
He moves to slip two fingers between soft lips.
“Given that you volunteered to follow me a second time, perhaps the name is appropriate after all.”

He sounds so much like himself. Will wants to believe it, wants every story about the collar to be wrong so badly.

James tilts his head in curiosity, but complies.

Will closes his eyes and inhales a shaky breath, once again swallowing the scream stuck in his throat.
"Don’t you mind at all?"
"Why would I?"
Because this is what you've always been afraid of. This is why your family cast you out and Sinclair took you in. They made you believe that all you would ever amount to was betraying people for Him. For me. But then you found out it was all a lie and for the first time in your life, you were free to choose your future. Until now.
__If there is a way to remove the collar, Will is going to find it.

Improper. But did it? The Sun King gave him leave to dance, so long as he left it at that. But Anharion suspected his permission extended to every person in the Sun Room, save for the man he currently spoke to. The only man he had interest in speaking to.
The Sun King hosts a masquerade to celebrate his engagement to the Lady and to honor his Sun General.

“Fuck off,” Remus rolls his eyes and shakes water off of his hands.
“Sorry,” Sirius grins. “Didn’t think you’d be so sensitive.”
