For the record, Hal would like to say this was not his fault. After all, that girl was really hot—think of a desert storm wrapped in a human form, with hair like dust devils swirling in the sunset and a smile that could make a monk rethink his vows—and that's what he was up against.
Anyone would’ve been distracted, okay?
Superman would've taken a little longer to blink. Batman would’ve pretended he wasn’t affected, then brooded about it for six months. And Hal? Hal forgot where he was and long story short—she kissed him. When he pulled back, dazed and grinning like an idiot, his ring was gone.
Next thing he knew, he was waking up—hands cuffed, ring still absent, ego thoroughly bruised.
Now, it wasn’t like this was Hal’s first time getting kidnapped. Far from it. But this? This was a first. No alien warlords. No cosmic entities. Just… a woman hired to lure him in for some wacko wanting to get dirt on, here's the kicker, Spooky of all people. Crazy, right?
Or,
Hal gets kidnapped by your average Gotham crazy wanting to get a step ahead of Batman and ends up being saved like a damsel in distress. Bruce is, surprisingly, overprotective—bordering on solicitous—about the whole thing.

Summary
In the early days of the Justice League the team are unsure if they can trust Batman without knowing his identity. A device borrowed from the Lanterns allow them to ease their doubts without invading his privacy.
The user will enter a non-corporeal state for seven days so they can follow their target, see and hear everything they do. When it ends they will forget everything they saw, but whatever opinion they form in that time will remain afterwards. If they see them being kind, they will emerge with a good opinion of them. If they see them being cruel, they will emerge with a poor opinion.
The last thing Hal expected was to come out of using the device with a crush.

Three chapters (so far), Hal used a device to see if they could trust Bruce but the device makes him forget what happened, only the feelings he got retained. He has some strong feelings. Batman is a bully, Hal is severely embarrassed.
