Summary
At some point, the Universe sends signs to people making them go on a journey to find their soulmate, be it a trip to a coffee shop or to another country for several weeks.
Lance is very excited to take on this trip, ending up travelling great distances.
Keith is the very opposite, making sure he never leaves his shack in the desert no matter how many plane tickets he gets in the mail and how many strangers pass by offering him a ride to the city.
So when Lance stumbles upon Keith in the desert, he thinks it’s all part of his trip, while Keith is very aware that he just met his soulmate and has no idea how to deal with this. -

Summary
Keith broke up with Lance on a sunny Thursday afternoon.
Even months later, Lance still can't understand why. He tells himself he doesn't care.
He's lying.
Everything changes when Lance is woken by a phone call in the middle of the night. Keith has crashed his motorcycle on the interstate, and Lance is still listed as an emergency contact. With no one else available, Lance has to make some tough decisions for the man he's still trying to convince himself he doesn't love anymore. -

“Well, there’s really only one option, then.” Lance says as he steps further into the room. At least he looks equally as uncomfortable as Keith feels. At least he seems to know he’s broken their boundaries.
“Really?” Keith grinds out, but his anger is deflating. The stress of the situation is starting to wear on him and he just wants it to be over. “Because as far as I can tell, there are no options.”
“You’ll just have to come home with me.” Lance says and Keith balks. He physically feels the color drain from his face as he whips his head around to meet Lance’s blue eyes. He doesn’t even get the incredulous question off of his tongue before Lance is rushing on to explain. “My family visits Cuba every year at this time and since they closed the borders, they’re stuck there until this is over. So my home is completely empty which means there will be tons of room for you, too! And it’s only a couple of hours away, so we won’t risk getting caught anywhere in the middle. And it’s free.”

Summary
Lance puts an arm out, barring Keith’s way. “Wait, hold on a second. Do you hear that?”
“Hear what?” Keith asks, but the words have barely left his mouth when the noise rattles across the ceiling again––a series of crackling and hissing noises that make Lance’s blood run cold.
At first he thinks maybe it’s just the sound of more sand pouring in through the hole in the roof. But no, it’s much louder than that, and coming from every direction. As he looks up, eyes widening with terror, he sees that the large cocoons above them are starting to move, shuddering and splitting open.
Keith and Lance have been assigned a mission to collect a rare sandstone from a desert planet called Zaedra, which is plagued by dangerous sandstorms. But when they arrive at the temple where the sandstone is located, they find it is not quite as abandoned as they anticipated.

And Lance knows it’s his fault. He started it, after all, but at least the biting term of endearment made sense when he was the one doing it. Keith had been talking to him like they were some old married couple. The kind who’ve been married too long and don’t love each other anymore and gripe over meaningless shit, only managing to piss each other off even further.
That’s why Lance called him dear. Because it made sense in the situation. It was a calculated insult. A strategic jab.
Keith, on the other hand, is weaponizing the term of endearment without any rhyme or reason, simply to get back at Lance.
Or: Keith and Lance have gotten into the habit of using pet names as condescending insults. They're not really terms of endearment.

Lance glances up from the last question he needs to answer on the book report he definitely didn’t forget to finish last night and follows Allura’s line of sight to see Romelle at her usual place near the back: legs propped up on her desk, earbuds in, fingers splayed across her knee as she paints her nails, the open bottle of pink polish sitting a bit too close to the edge for Lance’s comfort. One corner of his mouth turns up into a teasing smile as he glances over at Allura. “So you’re into rebel girls, huh?”
His quip is rewarded by a smack to the shoulder, and he presses a hand over his mouth to stifle his laughter when Allura’s entire face darkens. “Oh, like your taste in guys is any different.”
Lance squawks. “Keith isn’t a rebel, thank you, he’s just—he just—” He flounders for a moment too long, turning away with a huff and hunching back over his worksheet to hide the flush of his cheeks from Allura’s smug, knowing smile. “Whatever.”

Lance slams the cup down on the table. “You’re right!” he declares. “We gotta do something for them to take real pictures of.” He holds out his hand. “Let’s dance.”
Keith’s heart thuds.
“I don’t—I don’t really dance,” he stammers.
“Come on, it’s not hard! You just spin!” Lance smiles, more gentle than his usual ones. “Just one? It’ll be short. We don’t even have to do a whole song.”

Summary
Lance, like all the other paladins, is finally getting used to the “mind meld” they all have to indulge in when controlling their lions. Until someone’s uncontrollable crush comes in and knocks them all back in surprise. It’s a crush that circles persistently through their thoughts and only gets stronger as time goes on, until they begin to realize this might be a bit more serious than the term “crush” implies.
Meanwhile, the unfortunate paladin behind it all is trying desperately to bury the feelings away, yet failing at every turn.

Summary
