It goes like this: Riz Gukgak grows up aasimar, and decides he's better off without his magic. It's only ever messed things up. It's only ever made his life harder, and gods know his life was never going to be easy in the first place. He's better off swallowing it. If he never uses it, surely he can't drown in it. He can just not use it. He can be a rogue and push down all the magic and it won't have to matter that there's celestial power in him. No problem.
