Summary
I can remember many moments throughout my life when I wished I could escape. I dreamed about being whisked away into some fantasy setting.
Turns out being abducted by aliens is not nearly as fun as I thought it would be. Now I've crashed landed on some planet I didn't even know existed, and there's an alien parasite eating its way through my frontal lobe.
Also turns out vampires are real on other planets. I should probably find that weirder but instead I'm too focused on that haunted look in his eyes. Since I'm stuck on this planet, why not try to make the best of it. Who knows maybe along the way I will find the friends I always wanted and the love I never thought I'd have.

Summary

Summary
TL;DR - hey lets look at the BG3 story and expand out how Karlach and Astarion mighta become a couple.
Astarion and Karlach, at first glance these two companions couldn't be more different.
She's so open and loud and friendly and eager to do good. He's nothing like any of that.
But turns out, they have way more in common than either would have suspected.
Maybe a slight, sullen, suspicious vampire could use somebody who understands, but is nothing like him.
Even better if it turns out maybe she is a little bit like him.

Back at it again at the Krispie Kreme, Avernus version.
Karlach is trapped here, fighting every day in this horrible literal hell pit. But this time, she isn’t alone! Astarion and Wyll are here! But… gods, maybe that is making this shit worse, instead of better? Astarion keeps getting injured in battles, and Karlach doesn't feel any less guilty about things when he repeatedly says he's fine, he was tortured all the time before, it’s nothing to him, look how fast he heals.
Karlach was already scared she had brought him to Avernus only for him to die, instead of getting to enjoy his new free life, then today he managed to fall into a pit of lava during a battle. They fish him out, but now Karlach has to deal with protecting a badly burnt and feetless vampire on top of all of the other horrors of the hells.
And he won’t stop making jokes about the situation long enough for her to fucking think! ARGH!!!

Astarion gets horrifically injured but is more worried about making sure Karlach isn’t sad about it.
