Summary
“For the month I’ve been gone, you’re a lot bolder."
Immediately, Dennis was blushing again. Hard. Anything that previously came out of Robby’s mouth was tame compared to this charged tension in the room that Robby wasn’t even in. How did he always seem to do that?
Before Dennis could open his mouth to respond, Robby chuckled and asked, “Have you been holding back from me, Whitaker?”
OR
The first time Robby called Dennis on his sabbatical, Dennis didn't think much of it. That was until he kept calling, and Dennis always kept answering. Before he knew it, Dennis was calling him, and shit. He was in a talking stage with his boss.

Summary
Dennis Whitaker was raised to believe that suffering meant devotion. Taught that his body was a sin before he was taught how to survive it. Years later, homeless and desperately clawing his way through med school, he is still learning the difference between devotion and punishment. Jack and Robby enter his life without scripture and demands. Everything is wrong.
or Dennis has a major fear of alphas taking advantage of his situation due to his family teachings which leads to him being unable to see Jack and Robbys good intentions. Lots of patience and lots of love at the end.

Summary
It’s ridiculous, how surprising it feels, but Dennis can’t help it. Dr. Robby belongs in the Pitt — he is the Pitt. To see him outside of the PTMC feels like seeing your school teacher in the grocery store as a pre-teen — unsettling, mildly world-shifting, and leaving you feeling slightly giddy.
When Dennis finds out his boss is a part of a less-than-typical subculture, he finds himself falling down the rabbit hole of kink, self-exploration, and how to find that balance between what you really want versus what you actually end up getting.
Much to Robby's chagrin.

Summary
"Jack certainly hadn't been expecting his husband to bring home a stray. But, he'd taken one look at the kid, bag slung over his arm and looking like a deer in headlights, and knew in an instant they'd be keeping him for a while."
Jack and Robby are the happily married attendings.
Whitaker is the homeless, broke third-year intern.
Of course they were always going to take him home.
Just not like that.
Right?

Summary
Dennis doesn’t answer right away. He lets the silence stretch, just enough to feel natural, then shrugs. “I don’t usually keep inventory. I show up, I do my job, I go home.” A beat. “I sleep.”
Robby glances at him, something unreadable flickering across his face, then looks back out at the bay. “Fair,” he says. “Still. Admin’s spooked. Someone’s been skimming small amounts for months. Careful enough that it took a while to show.”
Dennis feels the familiar itch between his shoulders, the instinct to vanish, to pack up this name and this face and leave before curiosity sharpens into certainty. He stays. He always stays too long. “You think it’s staff?” he asks, voice steady.
“I think,” Robby says slowly, “that whoever it is knows exactly how much they can take without killing anyone.” He turns then, really looks at Dennis. “Which means it’s probably someone who cares.”

Dennis Whitaker has been stealing blood bags from PTMC for a year now, and Dr.Michael Robinavitch noticed.
