“You do! You have a crush on Slings brother!” The skater smiled, then his eyes went wide and he grimaced. “Oh shit you have a crush on Slingshot’s brother.”
Coil stopped, realizing two things in that moment. One, he maybe, just possibly has a crush on Shuriken… and two— Slingshot was going to try and kill him.
Coil groaned, throwing his head back against the cushions behind him. He was so fucking screwed. It wasn’t even funny anymore!
“Uhh— hey, it’s okay dude! Uhh… maybe you don’t? I mean, how could you have a crush on the guy when you’ve only talked to him once or twice or—”
“Skate, he gave me his scarf once and I keep thinking about his scent.”

A hero would risk everything to do the right thing. Shuriken is trying his best, he really is! But man is it difficult... Juggling all of these things while pretending to be normal. Sure, it was lonely, but... that was just life.
Then something changed. It was like everything was slipping like sand between his fingers, like his rope had slipped from his grip and he was falling down into the void. No one to catch him, no one to comfort him, no one next to him other than himself.
Light was above his head, oh, how he wished he was close to that light again. Perhaps in a field of flowers his sister had planted, enjoying the sweets his brother had made, and even savoring the tea of his older neighbor.
But... heroes don't have that spare time. Not even time to sleep.
But after everything, it's still you... right?
Looking into the mirror, the young inphernal wasn't sure if he could say that anymore.
Okay, I got inspired by Shuri redesign and wondered to myself. What happened? Like... It looks like such a huge personality change, so, This is my imagining of what happened between that time and after.

Summary
Shuriken, due to the nature of his job, was quite proficient in hiding bruises. Did it involve some makeup that he had to steal from his sister? Yes, it did. But the Silver Shadow, vigilante of Thieves’ Den, couldn’t risk becoming plant fertilizer.
He wasn’t any sort of makeup expert (unless his arm design counted), and he’d had to search up how to hide bruises on incognito mode on his crappy laptop when he’d first become a vigilante. But now he could effectively hide his bruises without a second glance.
The issue? He was out of concealer.
And so, the Silver Shadow, the professional, the master of disguise, was going to a makeup store to find himself some concealer. (Not that boys couldn’t wear makeup. Shuriken is very supportive of everyone and how they choose to express themselves, you know. What kind of vigilante would he be?)
