Summary
They have always observed each other, looking from afar. They were different, that's what intrigued the show-burning interest. First, it was casual glances, then slowly they worked their own way up to approach each other. The outcome of such an action was greeted with various reactions. One knew it was dangerous to do so, the other found it bothersome that people were so narrow-minded. But they couldn't stay away. It wasn't easy to blend their paths, but they did it anyway. A new direction, one they would follow side by side.

Summary
If they had to guess, it all began after Naruto became Hokage. It had been getting hard for both to the point that the office they worked in had felt more of a home than their own houses. The two friends decided fuck it and drank the night away. They didn't know it would end up with them in bed, never stopping to even think about their wives and children. They just needed to relieve the stress, and who better than the person in the same boat. They didn't know it would become an addiction.

Everything felt so peaceful. There was no evidence of strife or disrepair like the Konoha in his time. None of them knew of the Third Shinobi World War already building in the shadows. Civilians lived without fear, and shinobi joked about missions. He watched children playing in the Academy playground, so similar to the scenes from his own childhood before shit hit the fan. A tiny smile formed behind his mask.
I have to protect this.

Summary
The second thing Kakashi noticed about him was that he looked young, he looked around Kakashi’s age, no older than 21 or 22 at least. Blonde, unruly hair splayed out on the ground, the golden tips dyed red with his blood. His face looked calm, despite the state of the rest of him. Long blonde lashes rested against tan cheeks in his unconsciousness. Kakashi scowled at the scars that marred the man’s cheeks, three whisker like scars on each side, original cuts so deep they seemed indented still in his flesh. Blood seeped out of his nose and dribbled over his lax lips. Nothing about the man screamed imminent danger. He looked so small and innocent, pitiful in the puddle of his own blood.
---Or the one where Naruto crashes (quite literally) into a past that isn't his and not so smoothly tries to save it.

Summary
Naruto was happy. He’d worked so hard to make the village a safe place for everyone, for his friends and those who had helped him along the way, and now, his family too. He worked tirelessly day in and day out to ensure it stayed that way—often not returning home for days on end and going out on missions by himself. It was lonely, but he was used to it at this point and now he was an adult he saw no point in complaining. But to say it tired Naruto would be an understatement. He was happy to have finally made it to where he was, to have a family of his own after spending so much of his childhood in solitude, a lovely wife who would do anything for him and comrades who stood by his side through it all. So why was he lying in the woods with nothing but his cloak between him and the grass, staring up at the sky and feeling so empty and frustrated? It had been so long since he’d felt another’s touch, besides Hinata wrapping him up when he’d pass out on the couch, or when Shikamaru would tap him to wake him up when he fell asleep at his desk for the second time in an hour. He knew it was his fault, though. But he was pent up and it was making him angry, something that was unlike him.
