“Hi, Red. Is it okay if I hide away in here for a little while?” Alec’s question had a hint of worry and hesitance, showing that he was a little worried that Clary would deny a request that was so simple and easy to grant him. So with no annoyance or hesitation on her behalf, she nods her head as she moves over slightly and pats the free space on the bed next to her, smiling when the man shuts the door behind him and climbs onto the bed beside her. He lays down, instantly making himself comfortable as he lays on her bed and supports his head on one of his arms; the other resting on his stomach as he stares up at the ceiling.
“Do ever think about running away and just… getting away from everyone?”
The question that Alec had asked came out of nowhere after a minute of comfortable silence between the two, Clary moving to lay down beside her best friend; turning her head to look at the older man. Alec’s face is deep in thought, a frown on his face as he continues to stare at the ceiling before he sighed; turning his head to look at the woman laying beside him. “I just… everything is getting too much, Clary. I feel like I’m suffocating here.”
