To be completely honest, Izzy isn’t sure how exactly they get into this particular situation; apparently it’s one of those awful terrible coincidences that just happen, and Izzy would probably cut off her own hand if it meant being able to prevent this from happening, but she can’t.
She can’t prevent Imogen Herondale from making Camille Belcourt a Clave-protected informant, even if Izzy suspects the woman only hired the vampire to make Magnus’s life more complicated.
And she can’t prevent her brother and Magnus from hosting the annual New York cooperation dinner party, not that she would even if she could.

Of course, you can't very well get the fairies to eat the nutrients they surely need, so instead you have to insert them in.. other places, to ensure that the nutrients get properly absorbed. -

"That's right, Iz," Ed says but he doesn't take another drag himself, he just holds the joint a hands breadth from Izzy's face. "Hey Stede, I don’t remember—have you ever seen Izzy high?"
Izzy's mouth feels dry as he turns his face slightly. Everything is slow and sluggish, as if he's moving underwater.
Stede looks away from the tv, his head turning slowly. "Huh?" he says intelligently.
"Izzy," Ed repeats, "you ever see him high?"
"Hmm...." Stede hums, drawn out. A smile spreads on his face. "Don't think so, no."
Ed and Stede get Izzy high, and well... Ed knows how Izzy gets when he's under the influence. With the curling need pulsing through him, he won't say no if Ed asks, even if Stede joins them.

At the mention of Stede, Izzy's eyes flick to the other captain. He's watching them carefully, his face unreadable as he swirls his brandy in its glass.
