Peter wasn't expecting to fall so hard for his hot new boss. But it's fine, he can deal with pining from afar. It's just, he keeps noticing things. How upset Matt gets whenever Deadpool is brought up. How he keeps showing up with injuries no one talks about. How he teases Peter and then switches completely to ignoring him. It's weird. Matt probably hates him.
OR
Peter is too insecure to think Matt could ever like him.
Matt is convinced Peter needs help and he's too broken to provide it.

Summary
Theo used to think he was immovable.
Rooted so deep with no force strong enough to rock the sturdy balance that is immobility. Fixed in his spot while everyone moved on and past him, ever so willing to leave him in the dirt he called home. Long stuck like the parts of him that are left in the water that runs through the sewers, dripping down the walls and tainting the air. He stayed there, unwilling to fall and unable to be cleaned. He found himself stuck in the dirt and muck that everyone despises, but never more than he ever could. And yet, that murky water runs through him with his pain and his suffering and every other muddy misunderstanding thing until it’s just him, tainted and dirty and stuck right where everyone eventually left him.
He was still the unyielding object who had yet to meet a true unstoppable force.
(or the one where i put my own trauma on theo and then made it like 10x worse)
