Summary
The time is set in October 1986, between seasons 4 and 5 in the 18-month gap, Will is trying and failing to get his one-sided crush over and done with. But little does he know that a small encounter with a specific someone might just do the trick. Will he be able to get over his crush? Be able to finally break free? Or continue on the path to eventual heartbreak?

Summary
Chance, the reigning ladies’ man of Hawkins High, has a crush on Will Byers and thinks he might be gay. He couldn’t tell you when his view of Will went from “zombie boy” to “hot boy,” only that it happened sometime after the military finally left Hawkins 18 months earlier. Will suddenly seemed "different", and Chance had been going crazy watching him pine for an oblivious Mike Wheeler while he tried everything to get Will’s attention.
Come graduation night, he decides to make his move at Stacey’s party and (hopefully) make Will forget Mike ever existed… or at least plant the idea that love could be found elsewhere.
Luckily for Chance, Mike’s constant mishandling of Will’s heart makes that task easy. After Mike rejects Will at the party, Chance is there to pick up the pieces, and Will, heartbroken and wanting to move on, lets him in.
But once Mike finally realises what he’s thrown away, a battle for Will’s heart ensues, and Chance swears he’ll be the one who wins in the end.

Summary
After the events of 'A Glimmer of Light Refusing to Fade,' Will, Mike, and the Party are all battle-worn, exhausted, and half-grown-up - not to mention ready for their NDA deals to carry them into an easy life of peace, luxury, and recovery.
...but, of course, that doesn't happen. Whether it's the Upside Down following them and haunting whatever city they live in the same as it haunted Hawkins or just trying to survive after what they have, it's never going to be easy.
(It's worth a shot anyway. And they'll be damned if they don't try.)

Will flushed as Richie’s eyes, magnified by his lenses, very obviously raked over him, like he was trying to study or analyze him. If he wasn’t feeling so scrutinized he’d be entertained by how obvious it must be anytime Richie looked at anything. It was like his glasses exposed him rather than shielded him.
He looked almost wooden now, like he had been startled too, his eyes widening and widening impossibly more, making Will subconsciously worry he’d fall into them and get lost, until a little sigh-like sound punched out of Richie’s chest.
“Whoa.”
After the last two years of suffering and inter-dimensional threats, the only thing Will wanted was to spend a nice summer with his friends. Too bad they were too busy with their new relationships. With Dustin now away for summer camp, he dreaded the endless afternoons of fifth-wheeling to come.
After everything that happened last summer, Richie's mother thought it was best if he visited family for a while. Anything to get him out of a town that was clearly getting to him, even if Richie didn't think she knew why. He dreaded being away from the only people who could understand.
They could have never expected each other.

Summary
His Mom smiles at him with a knowing look, and Jonathan has an arch to his brow like he wants to ask more – but before either can, there’s the sound of a thud.
Will’s smile falls into his stomach. It wrenches with fear, with horror.
All three look to the entrance of the lounge, the direction of the thud.
“Shit,” says someone out of sight, just beyond the entrance, almost too soft to catch.
Will’s blood runs cold, because he knows that voice, knows the specific lilt of it.
“Mike?"
Or, Will comes out on his own terms, to the two people who truly matter - and is overheard by the one other person who means the most. In wake of the revelation, they decide to split off and take the final battle with Vecna into their own hands, all while navigating the undeniable pull that grows between them.

Richie and Will think they will never have their hearts beating fast again after their heartbreaks, until they enter the same university. Richie thinks he will never feel flowers in his body again after his romantic disappointment, until he sees William's soft hair. Will believes he will never feel his head exploding again after his rejection, until he sees Richard's freckles.
It's late fall of 1991 in New York, and the dry leaves tell Richie's heart to call his not-so-secret crush out for dinner, dancing, talking, and some avalanches.
